I’m going to talk about Spaces and Exchanges especially about the immigration. A Exchange is a continuous movement or circulation. Exchanges concern people, trade, media, etc. Immigration, today means the entrance, in a country of immigrants who come to stay and live there. With mondalization, migration flows have increased. My problematic is: What is the impact of the Mexican immigration to the United States? First, we will see that there is a positive impact and then we will see that there is a negative impact of the immigration. To illustrate the notion, I have chosen the following documents: the song <> by Bruce Spingsteen writted in 2012, a cartoon of comics by Greenberg, and a text of the roman <> by James A. Michener writted in 1995.
Now, my first part is about the positive impact of the Mexican immigration in The USA. In fact, the Mexican immigration in Usa enable the USA to have a work force who isn’t expensive because Mexicans are paid with low wages. It’s a first profit for the USA’s economy and a positive point for the USA. On the other side, the song <> by Bruce Springsteen shows that the immigrants come to USA in order to find a job and that it’s easy to find a job for any hard working person. Actually, Mexicans and Latino immigrate to USA because they hope for a better life and they were destitute and needy in their country … Some of this Latino risk their life to fulfil one’s dream and cross the border illegally. My second document, the extract of <> indicates throught the story of Manuela and Candido that this people want live in USA with lot of willpower. The fact that mexicans immigrants have a better standard of living is a other positive point for the immigrant.
Then, my second part is about the negative impact of Mexican immigration:
Well, Americans cash in on the Mexicans immigrants with for example the sweatshop… The new American life can be very hardship for this immigrant who are swindled by some people who are greedy for money. The extract of Texas tell the tragic story of two Mexicans Manuela and Candido who wanted cross the border illegally thanks smuggler. But this sly and ruthless smuggler took advantage of their naivety and Manuela died of thirst. Smuggler have deceived the Mexican. This story underlines that the immigration doesn’t always happen in good conditions… It’s a negative point for the immigrants. The cartoon by Greenberg describes a m’an’s reaction after he read the news paper. The man, is concerned about the minorities in California. He supports them and he wants that the Governement adopt a new policy on welfare to pass laws to increase housing to offer mire educational opportunities to youngsters. But he thinks that he belongs to a minotity, he’s just a typical prejudiced white man who doesn’t care about minorities; he feels to be denied. That shows that the relationship between the immigrant and the American are difficult and immigrants can be exclude. That’s a other negative points.
To conclude, we can say that the Mexican immigration has positive and negative impact on the USA. To my mind, there is especially a social impact and a melting pot.
